As our Practice population increases due to extensive new housebuilding in the area, we are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed GP to join our team as a Salaried GP, with a clear pathway to Partnership within 12-18 months for the right candidate.

About the Practice
West Calder Medical Practice is a large training practice currently hosting an ST3 Registrar and supporting a ST1. We enjoy a reputation as a happy and welcoming place to work, reflected in our high levels of staff retention among both clinical and administrative teams.
Located within easy commuting distance of Edinburgh, our practice offers the benefits of semi-rural living while remaining highly accessible. (One of our partners has happily commuted from Glasgow for the past 20 years!)
We currently have three Partners, including a highly experienced Management Partner. While uncommon in Scottish general practice, this reflects our belief that excellent leadership and management are essential to a successful modern practice and allow clinicians to focus on delivering outstanding patient care.

- 3 long-term Locum GPs
- An experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner supporting same-day demand
- Practice Nurse
- Healthcare Practitioner
- Healthcare Assistant
- Mental Health Nurse
- Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners
- Dedicated in-house Pharmacy Team
We are also fortunate to have District Nurses, Community Psychiatric Nurses and Health Visitors based within the practice, making communication and collaborative patient care seamless.
Teaching is important to us, and we actively support both medical and nursing students.
