SPECIALTY DOCTOR SESSIONS/GP IN DIABETES (2 posts)
1.5 PAs
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Diabetes Department in NHS Tayside as a specialty doctor/GP fulfilling 1.5 sessions. These posts are to help the secondary care diabetes service provide outpatient care for people with diabetes across Tayside. We anticipate at least one post working in Angus (Arbroath Infirmary or Whitehills Hospital, Forfar). The role will include providing one clinic per week, undertaking associated administrative tasks relevant to the clinic, and contributing to the monthly diabetes team professional development afternoon.
NHS Tayside provides outpatient (general, genetic, pre-pregnancy, young adult, foot) and inpatient diabetes care for people living with diabetes in Tayside and North Fife. We have recently developed a new diabetes care pathway to better integrate diabetes care between primary and secondary care and provide diabetes screening visits closer to home. Our outpatient service runs clinics in Perth, Ninewells, Arbroath and Forfar.
The appointee will join a dynamic and proactive team of 7 full time equivalent consultants/specialists in Diabetes & Endocrinology with a variety of sub specialty interests including academic interests (4 academic consultants) with well established links with the University of Dundee. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact Prof Ewan Pearson, Clinical Lead for Diabetes, NHS Tayside, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. Telephone 01382 383387 or email ewan.pearson@nhs.scot.
