We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse to join our small, rural practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care within a busy clinical environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to utilise their nursing skills and contribute positively to patient wellbeing. The Practice Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services, supporting doctors and other healthcare professionals, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Ideally this role is for 2.5 days worked Tuesday-Thursday (some negotiation considered)
About Us
With a list size of 1200 patients, Arrochar Surgery is a dispensing practice which offers an excellent opportunity to experience nursing in a rural setting. You will join a supportive team comprising a Senior GP, Associate GP, ANP, CTAC Nurse and Community Link Worker. The role will truly allow you to make a meaningful impact in primary care within a friendly and collaborative atmosphere.
Duties
- Delivering direct patient care, including health assessments and wound management
- Chronic disease management and health promotion initiatives
- Venepuncture and ECGs
- Women’s health including cervical screening.
- Patient Education and self-management support
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare practitioners
- Supporting the smooth running of the practice by managing patient appointments and documentation
- Ensuring infection control protocols are adhered to in line with current guidelines
- Assisting with minor procedures and diagnostic tests as required
- Maintaining accurate records in compliance with data protection regulations
The successful applicant will be an RGN qualified nurse, registered with the NMC. Previous experience in practice nursing in desirable, priority will be given to candidates with the following experience/attributes
- Chronic disease management
- Cervical Screening
- Wound care/management and dressings
- Minor illness management
- Health promotion and prevention
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to empathise with patients.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
- Able to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
