Albyn Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and committed GP Locum to join our friendly, supportive team for a 12-month maternity leave cover position.
While this position is initially a fixed-term locum opportunity, there may be scope for the role to develop into a more permanent position within our team.
About Us
Albyn Medical Practice is a well-established city-centre practice serving approximately 12,200 patients in Aberdeen. We offer convenient on-site parking and benefit from being closely located to a range of local amenities and transport links.
Our clinical team consists of:
- 8 GPs
- 3 Nurses (1 prescribing ANP, 1 prescribing NP, 1 treatment room nurse)
We also benefit from a wide range of attached professionals, including CTAC, First Contact Physiotherapist, CPN, Pharmacotherapy Team and other multi-disciplinary professionals.
Our experienced and dedicated administrative team provides excellent support to clinicians, helping to ensure efficient workflows and a manageable workload.
The Role
- 6 sessions per week
- Fixed-term maternity leave cover for 12 months
- Planned start in November 2026 (earlier start may be considered)
- 15-minute appointments
- Minimal home visits
- Use of Hosted Vision clinical software
- eConsults integrated into appointment management
- Care Navigation model in place to ensure patients access the most appropriate service
- Workloads are shared across a supportive and collaborative GP team, with a dedicated triage hub helping to manage and distribute same-day demand effectively.
