Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated GP Practice Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary primary care team for one day per week. This role focuses on the assessment and management of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, supporting patients with timely access to expert care.

You will work closely with GPs and the wider clinical team, helping to reduce GP workload while improving patient outcomes through specialist MSK management.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of MSK conditions
  • Provide first contact physiotherapy for patients presenting with musculoskeletal complaints
  • Develop and deliver individualised management and treatment plans
  • Offer advice on self-management, rehabilitation, and prevention
  • Refer patients for further investigations or specialist services where appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and the wider practice team
  • Support effective use of healthcare resources and reduce unnecessary referrals

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Physiotherapy
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Strong clinical experience in musculoskeletal (MSK) assessment and management
  • Excellent communication and patient assessment skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in primary care (First Contact Practitioner role)
  • Postgraduate training or extended scope practice in MSK
  • Experience in requesting/interpreting investigations (e.g. imaging)
