Newarthill Medical Practice, North Lanarkshire
With a view to Salaried / Partnership
We’re a small, friendly practice in North Lanarkshire looking for a long-term locum GP to join us for 2–6 sessions per week (Ideally must be able to work a Tuesday). With a clear and supported pathway to a salaried position and potential future partnership.
This role would really suit someone who’s looking for a bit more stability and continuity, rather than short-term locum shifts — with the added opportunity to move into a salaried or partnership role.
A bit about us
Newarthill Medical Practice is a well-established, single-handed practice with around 3,000 patients and we are currently looking to expand our clinical capacity. We’re proud of being approachable, supportive, and realistic about workload.
We’ve worked hard to put systems in place that make the day manageable, and we genuinely value teamwork, communication, and staff wellbeing.
You’ll be supported by:
- An experienced and friendly admin team
- Experienced GP Partner
- Pharmacotherapy and wider MDT input
- ANP
- Practice Nurse
- Efficient systems (Vision / Docman)
- A practice that is adapting and evolving to keep things sustainable

What the role will involve
You’d be doing a mix of:
- Routine and urgent consultations (telephone and face-to-face) mixture of 10/15 minute appointments
- Managing your own results, prescriptions, and referrals
- Working alongside the practice team to deliver good patient care
We keep things safe and manageable, and we’re always open to discussing what works best for you.
What we’re looking for

- Are interested in something longer-term (but no pressure on future commitment)

Remuneration
- Competitive locum sessional rate, depending on experience and agreed commitment
