Craigmillar Medical Group is a “Deep End” GP practice with 12,000 patients and due to our increasing list size we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated GP to join our practice team. We are a friendly team, supporting each other on busy days and we schedule coffee time together every morning. We currently have 6 GP Partners, 7 Salaried GPs as well as a GP Retainer, working collaboratively with a large multidisciplinary team. We also have teams of Health visitors, District nurses and Midwives working on site. As a training practice for GP trainees and medical students (Year 4 and 5) we are keen to support the next generation of GPs and we have several GP trainees who have stayed with us and joined our team of Salaried GPs.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking practice with a strong team ethos with a genuine commitment to clinician wellbeing and development and to get experience of working at the 'Deep End' of General Practice in an area of significant socio-economic deprivation in Edinburgh. We believe we make a real difference to people's lives through holistic care approaches and feel the reward of advocating for patients and communities that often struggle to find a voice.
Why join us?
- Friendly, experienced and approachable clinical team with peer-support
- Highly skilled care Coordinator team providing signposting to our patients
- Daily appointed Housecall GP
- Extensive MDT support including 2 Mental Health ANP, PAs and pharmacists
- Flexible working arrangements with attention to work-life balance.
- Opportunity to contribute to teaching and training with Medical Students Year 4 and 5 years
- Support to develop special interests and additional roles in the practice
- Welcoming environment for newly qualified GPs and those nearing CCT
- A Golden Hello of up to £10,000
We are currently seeking a GP for 6 sessions per week and can be flexible on the starting date. The successful candidate will share our commitment to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of our patients, staff and wider community and to offer a caring, accessible and friendly service in partnership with our patients. Informal enquiries and visits are encouraged.
