Maternity Leave Locum Required – 6-8 Sessions from September 2026

An opportunity for a one-year maternity locum from the start of September 2026 has become available at Camelon Medical Practice. There is potential for a more permanent salaried/partnership role following.
We are a well established and respected GP Practice located on the outskirts of Falkirk. Halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh, we are a short commute from Stirling with a local train station and only 5 minutes’ drive from the M876 motorway. We have had GPs commute from Falkirk, Stirling, Dunblane, Bridge of Allan, Cumbernauld and Glasgow.
We have a very low turnover of GPs and we think this reflects positively on the ethos we hold in the Practice. We have twice-weekly morning huddles before clinic, as well as a morning coffee break for all clinical staff. We have regular palliative care and district nurse meetings as well as monthly lunchtime teaching sessions. We have a weekly cake rota and try to organise lunchtime walks to the canal or coffee room stretch sessions as often as we can. We are a training practice, currently hosting FY2s with a plan to get GP trainees from next year.
Our Practice has 6 GP Partners, 2 practice nurses and a full time ANP, as well as being fortunate enough to have a full complement of PCIP staff with a paediatric ANP, Physiotherapists, a Mental Health Nurse, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. We have a purpose built premises and all GPs have their own rooms. Our list size is around 8300.
