GENERAL PRACTITIONER

Newfield Medical Group The Crescent 71 Lothian Crescent Dundee DD4 0HU

Newfield Medical Group is seeking a General Practitioner who is dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced to join our team.  We are a limited liability company that is a proud member of CO-OP UK.  We are a deep-end practice with an expanding list size of 7300 patients at present.  At our heart is a strong emphasis on quality, innovation and distributive leadership with a commitment to ensuring a rich and varied, but sustainable, workload.

As a Co-operative, we value our employees, members and community.  Access is really important to us and we have successfully managed to banish the 8am rush for appointments and the need for a duty doctor.  Further information regarding our access initiatives can be found by viewing the Chief Medical Officer’s Annual Report 2024-2025 at page 38, chapter 3 plus a recent article which can be found in The Scotsman.

We are an established teaching and training practice for both undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.  We maintain strong links with the Universities of Dundee and St. Andrews and have established a unique Primary Care Training Centre (the only one of its kind in Scotland).  The centre has a variety of uses including student led clinics.

We work closely and proactively with our community partners and established our own charity (Newfield Community Group SCIO) in 2022 which operates a community café on-site functioning as a social prescribing hub.  Within the café, we employ a full-time Community Coordinator.  We also provide medical services to two local prisons and and Aberlour Women’s Recovery Home.  We also run our own comprehensive drug recovery programme and administer Buvidal on site.  More recently, we have commenced providing a Vulnerable Access Clinic in our training centre which provides a holistic approach towards care for extremely vulnerable patients who are experiencing crises.
