We are looking for an enthusiast Doctor to join our team from November 2025. Ideally looking to cover 6-7 sessions over 3 to 4 days. We can be flexible with days and are willing to negotiate working hours to fit around childcare etc. Job share would also be considered.
We pride ourselves on being a close, supportive team who are all still enthusiastic about our jobs and the care of our patients. We have a strong focus on work/life balance, and support one another to try and ensure everyone gets home on time. As a team we try and make time in our busy day to have lunch together as we realise the importance of time away from the computer screen and maintaining team morale.
Graeme Medical Centre is located in the Centre of Falkirk, with excellent transport links. Our target list size is 5,600 patients and have a predominantly deprived patient demographic which has it challenges but we never have a dull day! We embrace the new ways of working with a multi-disciplinary team and have a positive attitude towards work life balance.
Our team includes 2 GP Partners, 2 salaried GP’s, 1 Long Term Locum, 1 Practice Nurse, PCIP staff including ANP, MHN, Pharmacy and Technician cover and Advanced Physiotherapist as well as our friendly administrative team, all of whom are trained in signposting and workflow optimisation. In addition we are fortunate to have Community Nurses still in our building which allows for better communication and care for housebound and palliative patients. Also we have regular sessions from our Community Link Worker and Disability Employment Advisor who can help support patients facing challenging social situations impacting on their health.
A typical day consists of 20 pre booked appointments, leaving time for paperwork, results and any unscheduled call backs required. We have a Duty GP available every session to support the clinical team. We hold weekly clinical meetings with whole practice meetings every month. Each month we also have a Gold Standards Palliative Care Meeting attended by our Strathcarron Hospice Clinical Nurse Specialist and District Nurses and a multi-agency meeting attended by Social Work, Community Mental Health for Older Adults, District Nurses and Community rehabilitation colleagues. We value these wider community links, building relationships that benefit our patients and the community and the wider NHS.
